The LIST *UPDATED*
Just going to make a bullet point of things that will need/can to be designed, some of the things were already mentioned in the meeting Saturday. I'm just going to point out every possible thing that can be designed. So in case you're bored with one thing, you can look at the list and pick something else to keep your attention. Please let the others know what you're working on as well. (I'll post this as a checklist on the blog and try to update it as much as possible) Vis devers keep in mind of what was mentioned last Friday on what is expect from you next class meeting.
Judging from what has been shown, it's possible to look at more Aztec stuff to help influence your art. Looking at it, they have geometric designs that were influenced by the organic shapes of the wildlife and plant-life around them. The face paint designs from the images Alex posted up are really influential also.
The List:
Storyboard:
- First draft of the boards
Vis Dev (y stuff):
- Since all the action is happening at the base of the waterfall now, that area will need to be designed and figured out asap so Chris can make a quick mock up of the area for the animators to work off of. This is the week the animators NEED to have blocking in by Friday. So please make this a priority.
- Owls will need to be designed, please keep the style in mind. Joelle
- Talisman will need to be re-designed into something owl-like and to indicate you can blow into it...like a whistle or an ocarina.
- Nadia's hair needs to be tied back. Her head needs to be smaller as well. Design what it might look like. Yen
- Mokarita and Tahama needs to be adjusted in design to fit into the same world that the children are in in regard toward the same design sense.
- The plant that everyone is getting the sap from will need to be designed as well.
- More drawings of the plant life. Joelle
- I think it was decided the time of day will be right before the break of dawn heading into sunrise by the end of the storyboard. Color studies will need to be made. A color script would be lovely.
- More characters will be animated, will have to wait and see which ones they are when the storyboards are drawn out.
- Water designed in the style that seems to be coming out of this project. Danny
- Various animal life, designed out in the same style.
- Barboa designs
- The "Mokarita". Make up a drink recipe. lol
- I think it was decided that Mokarita is a mix of Morgan Freeman and Ras Al Ghul from the Batman series. Tahama is a mix of Sonny from The Godfather and Ras Al Ghul's second in command. Nadia is like Luna Lovegood and Alex is like Neville Longbottom, both from the Harry Potter series.
- Various sketches of character interaction, showing how they relate to each other. Danny
- Moment pieces, how character is like in the environment they are in.
Animation:
- New Planning and reference needed
- 3D animation facial expressions Man-Yee
- Blocking
- Nadia rig
- Tahama rig
Modeling:
- Quick model of the base of the waterfall. At least some indication of where things are so animators aren't going blind into this.
- Whatever else you plan to model out
That's all I can think of at the moment. If you have any other ideas that could be added, please pipe up.

Morphius rig
I gave him more of a shoulder so he can move his shoulders without some collision. I also posed it...he's still creepy with no clothes though...

Animation Character Reference
So I was thinking about the character and noticed in the drawing that this is a character that probably doesn't open his eyes fully except on extreme moments. I remembered how in Finding Nemo, there was a character who was treated in the same respect. The character was name "Gill", the moorish idol who was the lead in the dentist's fish tank. What they did was study John Wayne and the eye shapes that he would do.
I guess it's an idea we can study some clips of John Wayne as well. Either that or Morgan Freeman when he was on either Bruce Almighty or Shawshank Redemption . Morgan Freeman might be better since he has a wiseman look that comes naturally to him. What do you guys think?

Mokarita Model (In progress *Updated*)
Heya,
I tried my hand in modeling Mokarita based on the turn around. I tried to keep a shapely look as much as possible, sort of like how Clone Wars has it along with what I can do to get close to the model as possible. I also played around with trying to get the face paint close. I'm a little lost as to how to get the body paint on the chest on, but I'll play around with it a little more later. Tell me what you think! :)
For the nose. I wasn't able to get exactly the shape that you had on your side view. It's possible one of us will need to model out the upper part of the nose if you really want.
Made the fingers slightly knobby with finger tips that kind of squares off at the tips.
I feel dirty...

Tahama Colorpass For Animators
Here's an pass on Tahama with the eye fix Danny requested and also a quick color pass to help you guys inform the decisions you make with the rig. I also toned down the horns on the hair just a tad more to make it look a bit more like hair.
